Recent Key Successful Projects

2007

Successfully launched Big Brother on 3’s mobile networks, which included live TV, video-on-demand and a community site.  This required working with the commercial television station broadcasting the show, the show’s producers and managing the technical teams.  Despite aggressive time frames, the project was successfully launched on time.

2006

Successfully launched the Ashes Cricket product on 3’s mobile network, to coincide with the Ashes Cricket series.  This included live Cricket TV during matches, inclusion of advertising, replayed matches, video highlights and live scoring.  The product achieved some of the largest usage numbers for 3.

Successfully delivered and launched the Orb product (www.orb.com) in 5 countries (UK, Sweden, Denmark, Hong Kong, Australia) on the mobile phone.  Led to rave reviews from the media and increased 3’s credibility as a provider of Internet services on mobile.

2005

Successfully delivered a $10m capacity expansion to DiGi Telecommunication’s prepaid mobile network, which allowed them to double the number of customers and caused an increase in revenue of almost 30%.

2004

Successfully delivered feature enhancements and a capacity expansion to DiGi Telecommunication’s prepaid mobile network.  This allowed them to massively increase their subscriber base and achieve higher Average Revenue Per User.  This resulted in a 120% increase in profit.

Alcatel-Lucent (formerly two separate companies - Alcatel and Lucent Systems) is one of the major players in the telecommunications vendor industry.  They are a global solutions provider, focusing on communications needs, providing both solutions and services.

Project/Programme Manager – South East Asia [Australia & Malaysia]
Responsibilities include:
•    Governance, steering and delivery of four projects, across customers in two countries
•    Development and assistance of bid creation and reviews
Accomplishments include:
•    Successfully delivered a $10m capacity expansion to DiGi Telecommunication’s prepaid mobile network, allowing them to double the number of customers which increased revenue by almost 30%

  • Use of Microsoft Project Server and CA/Niku Clarity.
  • Team leadership skills in motivating other team members.  This complements my project management abilities in scheduling and tracking, resourcing and customer management skills.  These have been developed and improved over time to cater for various customers and cultures.
  • End to end involvement in Application Development projects and a full understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, as well as End-to-End content delivery approaches.
  • A keen ability to focus on high-level solutions and analyse and work with customers to develop requirements and provide solutions based on these, including the development of functional specifications.

Awards Received

  • Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) award for “Best Interactive Service on a Wireless Network” for 3 Mobile’s Sport product, which I delivered in 2006.
  • Hutchison “Desirable Award” for participating in the team that delivered the X-Series proposition, of which Orb was a part.
  • Two “Alcatel Living Values Awards for Customer Focus” for the delivery of both phases of the DiGi Phase 2 Part 2 Project, which required a thorough understanding of the customer and needed careful management.
  • "Alcatel Living Values Award for Teamwork": This award was presented to me for my work on the DiGi project in coordinating and leading the team to deliver a successful project.
  • "Alcatel Hi-Potential List": This accolade is for a select group chosen from Alcatel each year that, in Alcatel management's opinion are the Hi-Potential performers.
  • “The Most Imaginative Demonstration of a Year IV Thesis Project”: My demonstration consisted of wiring my thesis to the SunShark solar car and a PC telemetry application.
